Monday, January 22 - more good news:-)

Dear fellow blog readers,

The news from The Winter Palace is all good today. Dad's white cell count continues to rise, and his neutrophil count is now up to 1.3, just a tiny bit shy of the 1.5 he needs to go home. If the number rises to 1.5 tomorrow, he'll be discharged and allowed to continue his IV antibiotics from home. Wow!

The knee continues to improve, and today Dad and E even went for a little walk. The only thing that really "happened" today (other than the routine meeting with Dr. O'Rourke), was a platelet infusion (pretty standard stuff) and the continued book reading. And napping.

So as you all can see, all is going quite well. Thanks to everyone for the ongoing prayers and well wishes. Maybe this time tomorrow, Dad and E will be tucked into their own bed. :-)
